Terms of Service

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Littr is an app for reporting litter, cleaning it up, and organising community litter-picking events. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Littr.

1. Your account

You must be 16 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent, to use Littr. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself.

You can delete your account at any time — in the app under Account → Delete account, or, if you no longer have the app, on this website . Deletion is permanent. By default your litter marks come off the community map with you; the app lets you choose to leave them standing as anonymous pins instead. Our Privacy Policy describes exactly what is removed and the few things that survive.

2. What you post

Marks, photos, chat messages and event details you submit stay yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to other Littr users — that is what the app is for — and to use anonymised, aggregated figures drawn from them (such as total weight collected) to describe what the community has achieved.

You agree not to post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or sexually explicit, or that invades someone's privacy — for example photographing people, or someone's home or private property presented as litter. Photos are screened automatically before other users see them, and anything reported is hidden pending review.

3. Behaviour and moderation

Be decent to each other. We may remove content, hide marks, and suspend or delete accounts that break these terms — including spam, fake cleanups and abusive chat. You can report any mark or chat message in the app, and you can block another user at any time, which hides each of you from the other. Event organisers may remove people from their own events.

4. Events and safety

Events are organised by users, not by Littr, and you take part at your own risk. Take normal care: wear gloves, use a picker rather than your hands, and watch for traffic.

Do not handle hazardous waste — needles, syringes, chemicals, asbestos, anything sharp or unidentified. Mark it in the app so others know it is there, and report it to your local authority, who are equipped to remove it. If you are hurt, treat it as you would any injury and get medical advice; a needle stick needs same-day attention.

Respect private property, follow the instructions of whoever is organising, and supervise anyone under 18 you bring with you. Live location sharing at an event is optional, visible only to the people at that event, and stops on its own.

5. XP, levels and badges

Points, levels, streaks and badges are for fun. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for anything, and we may adjust or remove them where they were earned by mistake or by gaming the system.

6. The service

Littr is free and provided as-is. We work to keep it available and accurate but cannot promise that it always will be, and we may change or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under German law — including liability for injury to life, body or health, and for intent or gross negligence.

7. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy , which forms part of your agreement with us.

8. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change applies. Continuing to use Littr after that means you accept the updated terms.

9. Contact

Questions and reports: contact@littr.info , or use Account → Send feedback in the app.

German law applies. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence are unaffected.
